Special Offers At Hotel Nikko Hong Kong

Hotel Nikko Hongkong will host a ”Japanese Liquors and Cocktail Class” this March! This elementary class covers cocktail-mixing techniques along with a basic introduction to Japanese liquors such as sake and shouchu, in which participants can acquire knowledge other than red and white wine. Upon completion, participants will be able to mix their own drinks at home too!

The class covers the introduction of the methods and techniques of cocktail-mixing, characteristics and tastes of different liquors and the use of cocktail-mixing utensils and garnish design. During the class, all participants can make 5 kinds of cocktails incorporating Japanese sake and shouchu on their own. The course also covers the history, classification and grading of Japanese liquors, manners of drinking Japanese liquors and food pairing. From theory to practice, participants can acquire fundamental yet crucial skills upon completion of this interactive class.

The instructor of the ”Japanese Liquors and Cocktail Class”, Sam Chong, is the Chief Sommelier of Hotel Nikko Hongkong. Sam has join the Food and Beverage industry since 2002 and has approximately 10 years of experience in cocktail-mixing. Started his career as a bartender, Sam has become an expert of wines and liquors. He is now a committee member of the Hong Kong Sommelier Association and has been awarded the champion of “The Best Sommelier Greater China 2010”.
